It all started when I was very young and I did everything I could to follow my dream – to become a fashion designer. However, soon I realised that I was more interested to learn and understand the concept and history of fashion rather than designing something new.

Hello! LOVE the blog! These pictures are helping my research TREMENDOUSLY! Can you tell me, what did women wear as sports bras back in the 20s and 30s? Thanks for your help – the sportswear is especially helpful!

Hello, I really apologise for taking so long to reply! The best answer for your question I could find is that the sports bra was an idea originally patented in the early 1900’s but it was never popular enough to develop properly in terms of design and concept. However, the 1920s bra was already pretty simple and not too restrictive. Sports bra as we know it only became popular more recently in 1977.
Speaking of sports and bra in the 1920s, you should check the story of Violette Morris – a famous athlete who chose to have a double mastectomy in the 1920s because her breasts “impeded control” of her racing car. Crazy!
